Homecoming Week is one of the best weeks of the school year, and we want ALL of our students to enjoy it, have fun with their friends, show their school spirit, and make memories they’ll be talking about for years to come.

As the week gets underway, we also want to give students and parents a quick reminder about “decorating” houses and cars.

Have fun. Be creative. Enjoy the tradition. But please remember that there is a line between having fun and damaging someone else’s property. Students should be respectful of homes, vehicles, yards, and personal belongings. **Nothing done in the name of Homecoming should damage a house, vehicle, or any other property, or create a safety concern for others.**

We want our students to have a GREAT Homecoming Week. Dress up. Participate. Be loud. Have fun. Make memories. Look out for one another.

Just make sure the memories you create are the kind you’ll still be proud of years from now.

Have a safe and memorable Homecoming Week!

-Mr. Nichols

Freshman English students are heading into the final myth of our first unit! To prepare, students took the lead in an inquiry-based activity exploring the author, Homer. Working together, they determined which research categories would be most helpful for understanding the story, investigated their topics, and narrowed their findings down to five key ideas their class needs to know. Student-led learning + collaboration + critical thinking = ready for The Odyssey!

The Lady Geese return home on Thursday night for a non-conference tilt against Rockridge! The JV contest will begin at 6:00 pm with the Varsity to follow!

The Junior High Cross Country meet for tonight at Rock Falls has been canceled. No XC practice for the Junior High team tonight.

Eighth-grade science students put their learning into practice during a hands-on lab! Using graduated cylinders, students determined the volume of irregular objects and then used their measurements to calculate density. It was a great opportunity for students to apply scientific concepts, practice accurate measurement, and strengthen their problem-solving skills through experimentation!
