With the help of PATT's funds, Ms. Evans, Title Reading Specialist, was able to create a decodable books library in her classroom for the teachers and students to utilize. Decodable books align with the Science of Reading's approach to teaching reading. These types of books can help students practice the phonics instruction they are receiving in their classroom. Ms. Evans has been purchasing decodable books for the past two years in order to build this library. Thanks to PATT and title funding, the decodable library now has over 300 books available!

National Scribble Day is celebrated on March 27th, but due to spring break, the Kindergarten classrooms recognized National Scribble Day on April 3rd. This day focuses on kindness, acceptance and expressing yourself. In the Kindergarten classrooms, social-emotional learning lessons have been focusing on A Little Spot of Emotions. In this curriculum, students learn about happiness, sadness, anger, anxiety, love, confidence, peacefulness and a scribble emotion! A scribble emotion is when the spot is feeling many emotions at a time. The spot needs to talk and sort out his emotions to find out how he is feeling!
