Students in Mrs. Gripp's third grade class completed Pourquoi Stories. Pourquoi stories are why stories. For example, they read a made-up story about why poison dart frogs are colorful. Students then created their own why stories. These are stories that the reading curriculum uses to get students used to the writing process of establishing a situation and introducing characters at the beginning of a story, describing a problem and explaining how the character responds to the problem in the middle of the story, and finally, providing a solution to the problem and the point of the story at the end. The students enjoyed presenting their original stories!

After reading How the Grinch Stole Christmas, students in Mrs. Martinez's first grade classroom learned about how the Grinch's heart grew. They learned about being kind and enjoyed the day watching the movie, playing games, and eating some sweet treats!

This week in Mrs. Hagaman's Junior High Choir class, students made Christmas cards. These cards were later delivered to a nursing home. The residents absolutely love them!

Mrs. Rumbold's morning preschool class and Mrs. Swedman's third grade class made reindeer food for a buddy activity!

Seventh graders in Mr. McGunnigal's Health class were the teachers on Monday and taught their peers about the muscular, respiratory, and circulatory systems. To prepare for their lesson, students used QR codes to access websites and videos for information to share with their classmates. On Wednesday, students played Jeopardy to review what they learned on Monday! If you were playing Jeopardy, could you name the muscle we use to chew?...What is masseter?
